<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge device for toilet seat and toilet seat lid which can stabilize the turning of a toilet seat and a toilet seat lid, and also prevent the device from becoming larger. <P>SOLUTION: The hinge device includes: brackets 4a and 4b attached to a toilet body; attaching sections 5a and 5b of the toilet seat 2 attached to the brackets 4a and 4b in a manner to be rotatable around a predetermined axis a1; and attaching sections 6a and 6b of the toilet seat lid 3 attached to the brackets 4a and 4b in a manner to be rotatable around the predetermined axis a1. Dampers 12a and 12b damping the turning of the toilet seat or the toilet seat lid are built in the brackets 4a and 4b. The attaching sections 5a and 5b of the toilet seat 2 are arranged on one side of the brackets 4a and 4b in such a manner that the attaching sections 5a and 5b of the toilet seat 2 and the attaching sections 6a and 6b of the toilet seat lid 3 may pinch the brackets 4a and 4b in the direction of the predetermined axis a1.
