The device has cameras for measuring volume of an irregular solid body by computation of detected contours in images taken with aid of laser beams. Laser heads are diagonally directed downward, and the laser beams are located in one plane. The cameras are mounted on sides of a metallic frame, and form triangle with the laser beams. An industrial personal computer calculates area of each contour, and adds two surface values.
