<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique advantageous to the improvement of sensitivity and the reduction of a crosstalk in combinations with various F-number imaging lenses. <P>SOLUTION: A solid state image pickup device includes multiple pixels for focus detection by a phase difference detection method. Each pixel includes: a semiconductor region including multiple photoelectric conversion parts capable of mutually independently reading signals; a first micro lens; and a second micro lens arranged between the first micro lens and the semiconductor region. The second micro lens includes: a center part; and a peripheral part surrounding the center part.
