Disclosed are a method and apparatus for dynamic addition and dynamic removal of a device, wherein a dependency list of dynamic addition can be obtained from BIOS, and dynamic addition operation of a device that needs to be added can be carried out according to the dynamic dependency list of dynamic addition to prompt a user to dynamically add the device of interest, and when it is necessary to dynamically remove a device, a dependency list of dynamic addition and a dependency list of dynamic removal of a corresponding device can be obtained from the BIOS, and dynamic removal analysis and operation can be carried out according to a combination of the dependency list of dynamic addition and the dependency list of dynamic removal of a corresponding device to prompt a user to dynamically remove the device of interest. According to the present invention, the dependency list of dynamic addition of a device can be returned through the BIOS to better accomplish dynamic removal operation of a device.
