IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE, AND UNDERWATER CHECKUP APPARATUS MOUNTED WITH THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, an image processing device and an underwater checkup apparatus mounted with the same that can correct oscillation of and stabilize images by using only image information, and contribute to operating ease of underwater checkup apparatuses.

SOLUTION: A subject is consecutively photographed with photographic means mounted on a mobile body; an element of the subject shot in common in two consecutive images is defined to be the feature quantity item; the two consecutively shot images are subjected to image correlation processing to determine the degree of near identity in the feature quantity item; if the nearness to identity fails to reach a prescribed level, a new element of the subject is defined to be the feature quantity item; the position of the feature quantity item in consecutively shot images is fixed to a prescribed position in a one-way direction of the two-dimensional shot images; and the variation quantity in the other direction of the two-dimensional shot images is set to be the shifting extent of the photographic means.
