PURPOSE: An improved piston engine is provided to improve fuel efficiency and output as piston side thrust is not generated at all. CONSTITUTION: An improved piston engine comprises shafts(3,3'), a chain pulley, a chain, a rack(8). The shafts of semicircular gear are symmetrically installed on both right and lefts sides of a lubricant chamber(1). The chain pulley is fixed to one side of the shaft. The chain pulley rotates in a counterclockwise direction by the chain. The sawtooth of the semicircular gear is intermittently engaged with both sides of the rack vertically fixed to the center of a piston(7) inside a cylinder(6).
