PACKET CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM, PACKET CLASSIFICATION METHOD AND PACKET CLASSIFICATION PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet classifier which retrieves a rule for classifying packets.

SOLUTION: A packet classifier (1) comprises an allocation processing unit (11), a first rule comparison unit (12), and a second rule comparison unit (13). The allocation processing unit (11) stores allocation policies. The first rule comparison unit (12) stores a rule set by classifying the rule set into two or more subsets. The second rule comparison unit (13) stores the rule set without classification. The allocation processing unit (11) allocates a retrieval key to one of the subsets. The first rule comparison unit (12) compares the retrieval key with rules included in the corresponding subset based on the allocation result to output a rule that matches the retrieval key. The second rule comparison unit (13) compares the retrieval key with all stored rules regardless of the allocation result to output a rule that matches the retrieval key.
