<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that properly reduces jaggies on edge parts even with the use of inexpensive and high-speed edge determination processing, without an effect on the shape and orientation of characters and figures. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus detects the size of character (such as the point size) for small characters and line width for thin lines, and if the detected measurements are smaller than predetermined sizes, performs edge smoothing not only for edge parts but also an object as a whole. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
