This medical device system comprises: a longitudinal axis member which has a longitudinal axis, has an inner space extending along the longitudinal axis, and is provided along the longitudinal axis; an insertion section provided in the inner space so as to be movable in the longitudinal axis direction and having a bendable bending section; an operation section for operating the bending section; a first operation member connected to the operation section and causing drive force for the bending section to be transmitted, the drive force corresponding to the operation by the operation section; a second operation section connected to the bending section and provided along the longitudinal axis; a connection section capable of disconnectably connecting the first operation member and the second operation member; and a switching mechanism for switching, according to the relative movement between the longitudinal axis member and the insertion section, the first operation member and the second operation member between a connected state in which the first operation member and the second connection member are connected by the connection member and a disconnected state in which the first operation member and the second operation member are disconnected.
