<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric brake apparatus capable of maintaining predetermined control accuracy despite wear of a brake pad and other changes over time. <P>SOLUTION: Actuation of an electric motor 19 is controlled by a controller 7 on the basis of an operation of a brake pedal 5. A brake pad 9 is driven via a speed reduction mechanism 25, a ball and ramp mechanism 27 and a piston 11, and pressed against a disk rotor 3 to generate brake force. The brake force is controlled on the basis of a rotational position/thrust force table indicating the relationship between a rotational position of the electric motor 19 and thrust force of the piston 11. Estimated thrust force of the piston 11 is calculated on the basis of an electric current flowing through the electric motor 19 by an electric current/thrust force conversion function. The estimated thrust force in a predetermined rotation position of the electric motor 19 is compared with reference thrust force on the basis of the rotational position/thrust force table to correct and update the electric current/thrust force conversion function, thereby maintaining predetermined control accuracy despite wear of the brake pad 9 and other changes over time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
