<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector capable of achieving preferable PC connection through a simple structure and a method of assembling the same. <P>SOLUTION: An optical connector includes a ferrule for holding one end side of an optical fiber and an optical fiber holding part for holding and fixing the optical fiber extending from the ferrule. The optical fiber is fixed by the optical fiber holding part under a state of projecting from the tip of the ferrule for a predetermined projection amount ΔL. When a connection destination and the optical fiber are connected, the optical fiber is depressed up to the end face of the ferrule, resulting in elastic deformation with no bending from the tip of the optical fiber to the fixed end of the optical fiber holding part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
