Cogeneration plant with cleaning arrangement for its heat exchanger and method for using same

The plant (1) has an internal combustion engine (2) driving a generator (3), and a line (4) of a heat transfer medium (6) controlling temperature of the engine. Another line (7) of a heat transfer medium (8) is designed as exhaust gas of the engine. An exchanger unit is arranged in a shell of an exhaust gas heat exchanger (9). The exchanger unit is partially surrounded by the exhaust gas in an operating condition. The shell is partially filled with cleaning medium e.g. water, in a cleaning condition. The exchanger includes an ultrasound exciter (52) for moving the cleaning medium.
