A sealing apparatus (10) suitable for use as a subsea repair clamp has a sealing membrane (12) with first and second portions (14,16) for engaging the outer surface of a pipe. Retaining members (18,20) are located in opposing relationship to each other about the sealing membrane (12) and are secured to each other by a closure member, the retaining members (18,20) retaining sealing engagement between the sealing membrane (12) and the pipe. In particular embodiments, each of the retaining members (18,20) comprises axially spaced plates (22,24) arranged generally transversely to the longitudinal axis of the sealing membrane (12). |
