Novel Triclosan Salts

An article comprising a silver-triclosan salt, wherein the article is selected from the group consisting of medical devices and packaging materials, and wherein the triclosan is present in an amount from about 40% to about 99% of the weight of the salt and the silver is present in an amount from about 1 to about 60% by weight of the salt.
