<p>A camera with a moving image (video) mode and a still image recording mode is arranged to save acquired video data in the same directory as an associated still image (thumbnail image). When new video data is acquired, a determination is made to decide whether a pre-existing video file exists in a specific directory. If it does, the new video data is additively recorded (i.e. appended) to the existing file such that the combined data result in a continuous file available for playback. An associated still image is recorded in the same directory. The additively recorded file and still image file are either saved together in the specific directory or in a newly created directory, dependent upon the available file space identified in the directory.</p> |
