The present invention provides a device and method for inserting an optical fiber, wherein the optical fiber has a fiber axis, in an equipment for optical fiber processing, the device comprising guiding means, whereby the device is adapted to move a tape, wherein said guiding means are adapted to draw the tape to feed the optical fiber with the tape and to sandwich the optical fiber in the tape with the movement of the tape, wherein the movement speed of the tape is higher than an insertion speed of the optical fiber.
