PURPOSE: A cutting insert for a milling tool is provided to extend the lifespan by strengthening the edge where workpieces are directly coupled with a reinforcing bevel. CONSTITUTION: A cutting insert(2) for a milling tool comprises a lower side, an upper side(22), and a circumferential edge side(23). The upper side forms a chip face and is extended in parallel to an extended plane. The circumferential edge side connects the upper side and the lower side. A center axis is extended through the lower side and a symmetrical line is vertical to the center axis. First cutting edges(24) respectively comprise a primary main cutting edge(24'), a secondary main cutting edge(24''), and a transversal end cutting edge(24a). The primary and secondary main cutting edges are symmetry based on a symmetry line. The transversal end cutting edge is extended between the primary and secondary main cutting edges. A normal line to the extended plane forms a relief angle at an acute angle with the edge side along the first cutting edges. |
