PURPOSE: A self-photo-initiating azobenzene acrylate is provided to able to self photo-initiate without adding separate photo-initiators, and to impart optical properties of a polymer liquid crystal resin film by only on-off switching of light when applied to a polymer dispersed liquid crystal film composition. CONSTITUTION: A self-photo-initiating azobenzene acrylate is in chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, R is -(CH2)n-, and n is an integer from 1-18. A manufacturing method of the self-photo-initiating azobenzene acrylate comprises a step of Michael addition of multifunctional azobenzene acrylate which is a Michael acceptor, and β-ketoester, β-diketone, β-ketone amide or β-ketoanilid as a β-dicarbonyl Michael donor under the presence of organic solvent.
