<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cooling a roller in continuous casting measurable of circumferential temperature distribution of the roller caused by bending of the roller in a nonstationary state. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for cooling the roller in a continuous casting machine for cooling a cast slab by blowing cooling water from a nozzle on at least one of the cast slab and the roller, a plurality of holes 24 are bored in an end face 7a of the roller 7 concentrically arranged with respect to an outer peripheral face 7b of the roller 7, a thermometer 26 is embedded in each hole 24, the temperature distribution in the circumferential direction of the roller 7 is measured by the plurality of thermometers 26, and based on the measured temperature distribution in the circumferential direction of the roller 7, the flow rate of the cooling water jetted from the nozzle 14 is controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
