<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical glass which has desired optical characteristics and is excellent in devitrification resistance and mass productivity. <P>SOLUTION: The optical glass is obtained from SiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>-Nb<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">5</SB>-TiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>system glass having a refractive index (nd) of 1.75-1.95 and an Abbe number (νd) of 15-35 and has an operating range (ΔT)=(temperature of 10<SP POS="POST">0.5</SP>poise-liquidus temperature) of at least 20°C. As the glass composition, the optical glass preferably contains 15-45 mass% of SiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, 15-40 mass% of Nb<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">5</SB>(excluding 40 mass%), and 1-30 mass% of TiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
