<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glow plug and a method of manufacturing the same capable of preventing waggling and bending in a radial direction by surely holding a nucleus in a shaft hole of a main bracket. <P>SOLUTION: A nucleus 3 is inserted in a shaft hole 43 of a main bracket 4, and a connection end 36 of a rear end 32 is protruded from a rear end face 48. An insulating member 6 is arranged between the nucleus 3 and the shaft hole 43 of the main bracket 4. The insulating member 6 includes a tapered part 63, and abuts on a tapered part 47 provided at the main bracket 4. The insulating member 6 which is pressurized by a connection terminal 5 that is fixed to the connection end 36 for alignment, surely forms the nucleus 3 at a rear end 45 of the main bracket 4, preventing the waggling and bending of the nucleus 3. By satisfying D1>D2 and D3<D4, the edge of the main bracket 4 and the connection terminal 5 do not hit the insulating member 6 and prevent the insulating member 6 from being chipped or worn due to a stress concentration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
