<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining excellent toner image transfer performance for a recording medium such as concave and convex paper and reducing the occurrence of shock jitter, even in processing a cardboard. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a secondary transfer roller coming into press-contact with an endless intermediate transfer body by secondary transfer roller energizing means and a secondary transfer counter roller facing the secondary transfer roller across the intermediate transfer body and transfers a toner image carried by the intermediate transfer body to the recording medium in a secondary transfer nip part between the secondary transfer roller and the secondary transfer counter roller. In the image forming apparatus, secondary transfer counter roller energizing means for energizing the secondary transfer counter roller toward the center of the secondary transfer roller is provided, the secondary transfer roller and the secondary transfer counter roller are movable along a line connecting the centers of the secondary transfer roller and the secondary transfer counter roller, and a pressure F2 applied by the action of the secondary transfer roller energizing means is larger than a pressure F1 applied by the action of the secondary transfer counter roller energizing means, in the secondary transfer nip part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
