<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a broadcast station or a medium being a source of material/content which are viewed/brought into contact with sufficient determination accuracy even if the same content material/content or similar content material/content are broadcasted from different broadcast stations or media at the same time or similar time. <P>SOLUTION: A viewing channel is determined by similarity of characterized data (S41). When a plurality of channel candidates exist, a channel is determined by a first candidate when a difference of the similarity between the first candidate and a second candidate is a prescribed value or above (S42). When the difference is not more than the prescribed value, the channel is determined by the channel which remote controller information shows (S43).
