<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, which is improved in catalyst lifetime, a space-time-yield, and operability and selectivity of a catalyst, for producing a saturated aliphatic ketone by hydrogenating an olefinically unsaturated ketone. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes a step of hydrogenating an olefinically unsaturated ketone in a continuous fixed-bed mode in the absence of a solvent in the presence of a catalyst comprising a noble metal deposited on a carrier selected from ZrO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, TiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, activated carbon, SiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>and Al<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">3</SB>wherein an amount of the noble metal is 0.1-5% (wt./wt.). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
