摘要 [Problem] To provide an aquaculture device and aquaculture method that not only enables benthic organisms such as bivalves to be delivered to market cheaply and safely but also enables an increase in the amount of organisms raised per unit surface area and enables growth promotion of economical and high-quality bivalves. [Solution] In the present invention a long rectangular cultivation box (2) the top of which is open comprises an outer tank (2b) that serves as a cultivation water water storage unit and an inner tank (2a) that serves as an accommodation unit for bivalves (benthic organisms) (S) to be cultivated; the outer tank and inner tank can be combined and separated. In a state where the inner tank (2a) is accommodated in the outer tank (2b), a gap (D1)that serves as a feed-water inlet and a gap (D2) that serves as a space that allows sediment to accumulate in the bottom of the outer tank (2b) are formed so that compartments emerge. A plurality of water-passing through holes (2e) are opened in the bottom of the shellfish accommodating unit (inner tank) (2a) and on the upper surface thereof a net body such as a mesh filter is provided in a tensed state. The front part and the rear part of the cultivation boxes (2) are staggered and the boxes are disposed stacked in the vertical direction; cultivation water (W) that flows over the front surface rim part (2d) of the shellfish accommodating unit (2a) flows down into a water supply water storage unit (2b) of a lower cultivation box (2).
