<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the risk of wrong operation by reducing the projection dimension of an operation part to a car compartment and simplifying the structure. <P>SOLUTION: A shift switching device includes: a rod 10 that is rotatable around an axial line and slidable in the axial line direction; a detector 20 that outputs a position signal set according to a rotation position and a slide position of the rod; two biasing means to bias the rod to a reference position in the rotating direction and a reference position in the sliding direction; and a rod regulating means that prohibits the rotation of the rod when the rod is slid from the reference position in the sliding direction when the rod is positioned in the reference position in the rotation direction or at a traveling range switchable position, while enabling slide of the rod from the reference position in the sliding direction only when the rod positions at a reference position of the rotation direction or the traveling range switchable position separated from the reference position in the rotation direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
