<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve processability in the case of using a mercaptosilane without impairing the physical properties of vulcanized rubber. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing a rubber composition for tires includes a first mixing step where additives including a filler and a mercaptosilane are added to a diene-based rubber without adding an amine-based age resistor, a vulcanizing agent and a vulcanization accelerator, they are mixed by a kneader, and the resulting mixture is discharged at a first discharge temperature, and a final mixing step where an amine-based age resistor, a vulcanizing agent and a vulcanization accelerator are added to the mixture and mixed. It is preferable that the method further includes a rekneading step where the mixture obtained in the first mixing step is kneaded by a kneader and the mixture is discharged at a second discharge temperature.
