<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universally designed sliding door that reliably prevents entry of wind and rain. <P>SOLUTION: When a door 20 is opened, the height of a lower rail 24 protruding from a top face of a floor plate 14 is changed according to a downward load to be applied when a person or the like passing a sliding door opening 12 presses the lower rail 24 with his or her foot. The height of the protrusion is decreased to a position of a bottom dead center at most, which is as high as the top face of the floor plate 14 to form a flat floor surface. The lower rail 24 protruding from the floor surface 14 seals a gap to a lower end of the door 20 and reliably prevents wind and rain from entering from the outside into the vehicle. The height of the lower rail 24 protruding from the top face of the floor plate 14 is not changed due to a load in a direction perpendicular to the lower rail 24 when the door 20 is opened/closed or closed, thereby preventing any influence on a guide function of the lower end of the door 20 or a function of preventing entry of wind and rain due to the lower rail 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
