<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which excels in safety by making it capable of preventing inclusion of foreign matter at cutoff time or when an electrode group is wound and by reducing an excess electrolyte amount to prevent occurrence of internal shorting. <P>SOLUTION: A cathode plate 10 has core exposed parts 11a, 11b, 11c, 11d which are not yet coated with a cathode active material formed at an end in a long direction thereof. An insulating tape 20 greater in width than that of the cathode plate 10 is stuck to the core exposed parts 11a, 11b, 11c, 11d which are not yet coated with a cathode active material, and, with a coating of paste applied to all faces thereof in contact with the cathode plate 10, is also stuck to part of a cathode active material coated portion 12 adjacent to the core exposed parts 11a, 11b, 11c, 11d which are not yet coated with a cathode active material. Moreover, a portion of the insulating tape 10 bulging out of the cathode plate 10 is stuck to the reverse side of the cathode plate 10 after being folded down starting from a tip in the width direction of the cathode plate 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
