<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging system and charging status browsing apparatus that enable a user to confirm a charging status of a battery of an electric vehicle by simple operation without performing processing such as registration of an e-mail address in advance. <P>SOLUTION: A charging apparatus 1 notifies a charging status management apparatus 2 of a charging status with apparatus identification information identifying the charging apparatus 1; and notifies the charging status management apparatus 2 of an acquired card identification information with the apparatus identification information, when an identification information acquisition part 15 acquires the card identification information by non-contact communication from an IC card 6.
