<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device capable of displaying the current position and performing a route search immediately after a start-up of the navigation device without intermittently supplying power to a GPS receiver and periodically performing positioning. <P>SOLUTION: A navigation device which is capable of setting an arbitrary destination and performing route guidance to the destination is provided with: current position detecting means for detecting the current position; storage means for storing start-up history of the navigation device; start-up prediction means which predicts conditions under which the navigation device will start up the next time based on the start-up history stored in the storage means; and operation control means which controls the operation of the current position detecting means based on a prediction result by the start-up prediction means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
