In order to be able to inexpensively print a distinctive pattern on a cleaning article having a deformable, cloth-type basic member and have the printed pattern properly adhere to the surface of the cleaning article, the printed pattern being applied without using a dryer, and thus using a low amount of energy and requiring little space, during the production of the basic member, the cleaning article is characterized in that the printed pattern consists of a hot-melt adhesive.
