<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a semifinished blank for a varifocal lens which prevents the varifocal lens from decreasing in performance. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes an adhesive coating process of coating at least one of a top surface of a first substrate 13 and a reverse surface of a second substrate 15 with adhesives 43 across a non-adhesive region 47 surrounding a liquid crystal holding part 19 so that they do not overlap with one another; a pressure reducing process of reducing the pressure in a closed vessel which houses the first substrate 13 and second substrate 15 as compared with the atmospheric pressure; a sticking process of sticking the second substrate 15 on the top surface of the first substrate 13 under the pressure reduced in the pressure reducing process; a standby process of keeping the first substrate 13 and second substrate 15 in a sticking state for a predetermined time under the pressure reduced in the pressure reducing process after the sticking process; and a pressure restoring process of restoring the reduced pressure in the closed vessel after the standby process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
