The present invention is a spinous process spacing method by which an article that has an expandable body is transcutaneously inserted, the expandable body is positioned between spinous processes, a filling material is injected into the expandable body to make it expand between the spinous processes, and the expandable body is separated from the article so as to remain between the spinous processes. This method causes the patient very little discomfort.
