COMPACT SCROLL FAN ASSEMBLY

A radial fan assembly (18,20,30) for use in a powered air purifying respirator (10) includes at least an impeller (36), a printed circuit board (31) and a scroll casing (22). The scroll casing has a first (34) and a second (31) scroll casing element. The second scroll casing clement includes at least a portion of the printed circuit board. When the radial fan assembly is used in a powered air purifying respirators, the respirator may also include components such as a filter assembly (26).
