METHOD AND KIT FOR DISCRIMINATING CATTLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for identifying proteins involved in an economic trait of beef cow by a proteome analysis and individually discriminating the cow having useful economic trait with the proteins defined as a biomarker, and to provide a kit for discriminating the cow for use in the method.

SOLUTION: The method for discriminating cow according to the present invention includes: (1) a sampling step for sampling a body tissue from the cow; (2) an extraction step for extracting the whole proteins from the sampled body tissue; (3) a measuring step for measuring the content of a specific protein in the extracted whole proteins; and (4) a discrimination step for discriminating the economical trait of the cow based on the content of the specific protein.
