<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a golf club head that allows the easy adjustment of the angle of connection with a shaft while increasing the wear resistance of a face surface by having a particularly soft club head body and a hard face surface. <P>SOLUTION: A semifinished iron club product formed medium-carbon steel or low-carbon steel and having an integrally molded face surface is formed. The center of the face surface of the semifinished club product is heated by a heating means to a predetermined quenching temperature, and the semifinished club product is rapidly quenched by a quenching means so as to form a hardened layer on the face surface. Also, the face surface is made to decrease in hardness as it extends radially from the center of the face surface to its periphery. Furthermore, linear grooves are formed on the face surface by a mechanical machining means and the semifinished club product is surface-treated to complete a club head. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
