The household dishwasher comprises a washing tub which includes two metal sheets (1,3) that are welded together so as to form an open capillary gap (17). A sealing liquid (19) is provided fluid-tightly in the capillary gap. The capillary gap is wetted and sealing liquid is cured within the capillary gap due to the capillary forces. The sealing liquid is silicone resin. The metal sheets are bent to form the bending edges (7,13) from which outwardly bent flanges (9,11) are extended. The metal sheet is made of chromium steel. An independent claim is included for method for manufacturing washing tub of dishwasher.
