CAPTURE, REMOVAL, AND DISPOSAL OF RADIOACTIVE SPECIES IN AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION

PURPOSE: A capture, removal and disposal of a radioactive species in an aqueous solution are provided to remove the radioactive species by using a sequestration-type resin. CONSTITUTION: A macroporous bead form sequestration resin is provided. The bead form sequestration resin captures a radioactive by applying the bead form sequestration resin to the radioactive species in an aqueous solution. The radioactive species is disposed in a radioactive storage facility. The bead form sequestration resin containing captured radioactive species is applied to a neutral solution of high concentration of aqueous cation. The radioactive species is released from the bead form sequestration resin by using an acid to lower the pH.
