PURPOSE: An apparatus for selectively separating nonvolatile iodine from aqueous sample is provided to prevent radioactive contamination by installing a partition in a sub trap. CONSTITUTION: A heating mantle(104) is installed on the outer surface of a reaction bath(102). Iodine ions are oxidized from nonvolatile iodine containing solutions to nonvolatile iodine by oxidizers in the reaction bath. The nonvolatile iodine containing solutions are heated by the heating mantle. The oxidizer is hydrogen peroxide. A main collecting bath(122) is connected to the reaction bath using a transmission tube.
