<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating wastewater containing nitrate nitrogen capable of effectively treating nitrate nitrogen while effectively preventing a sponge copper catalyst from being crushed or powdered, and the sponge copper catalyst used for the method. <P>SOLUTION: The method of treating wastewater containing nitrate nitrogen, for reducing nitrate nitrogen contained in wastewater, includes a step of reducing the nitrate nitrogen by bringing a sponge copper catalyst into contact with the wastewater, wherein the sponge copper catalyst is produced using an alloy, in which the weight ratio between copper and aluminum ranges from 52:48 to 70:30, as a raw material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
