A material and a methodology of safe and effective treatment for corneal endothelial cell disease / defects without the necessity for corneal transplantation. A Gel film for treating corneal endothelial defects, which is a transparent, flexible, elastic, safe and sterile organic/inorganic composite gel, stable for corneal endothelial cells, made up of a three-dimensional network structure and water, formed from a polymer of water-soluble radical polymerizable organic monomers (A) and delaminated clay mineral (B), with (B)/(A) mass ratio of 0.1 to 2.5, and optical transmittance of 80% and above. |
