The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for studying and diagnosing the involvement of gastroesophageal reflux (GER) in cardiorespiratory diseases, the involvement of cardiorespiratory diseases in GER, and the relationship therebetween. The apparatus and method are based on a plurality of probes for measuring gastroesophageal parameters and devices for measuring cardiorespiratory parameters, combined with different units for processing and displaying the data acquired, connected by means of an integrated communication system. The invention provides a reduced-size, highly versatile study tool that is suitable for use in intensive care units in medical centres.
