The present invention relates to a method and device for testing link performance. The method for testing link performance comprises: links to be tested are selected; links to be tested are connected in an order that forms a closed test link path; test packets are inserted into the closed test link path; the maximum speed that the closed test link path uses to transmit the test packets is the throughput of the links to be tested. The method and device for testing link performance presented in embodiments of the present invention utilize a test closed link path formed using a packet distribution network or using the links within the device itself, and obtains the performance of the links to be tested according to inserted test packets, thereby achieving low-cost, real-time link performance testing with no need to rely on other external devices. |
