PURPOSE: A large turbocharged two-stroke diesel engine in which exhaust gas is re-circulated is provided to be operated with a variable recirculation ratio of the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: A large turbocharged two-stroke diesel engine(1) comprises a plurality of cylinders(2), an exhaust gas storage(12), a discharge pipe(10), a compressor(18), a sub blower fan(23), an air storage(22), a re-circulation path(32) for exhaust gas, a flow path(40) bypassing the cylinders, and a valve(42). The -circulation path for the exhaust gas comprises a blower fan or the compressor to supply some exhaust gas into air. The flow path bypassing the cylinders supplies some high temperature air to a turbine of a turbocharger(16). The valve controls a flow through the flow path bypassing the cylinders. |
