PURPOSE: A dry syrup composition containing physiologically active ingredients, starch, and thixotropic thickening agent is provided to enhance medication convenience and to reduce viscosity of the gelatinized starch in the mouth. CONSTITUTION: A dry syrup composition contains 0.001-20 weight part of physiologically active ingredients, 0.1-10 weight parts of starch, and 0.01-10 weight parts of thixotropic thickening agent. The composition is used by mixing with water. The starch is general starch of corn starch, tapioca starch, potato starch, sweet potato starch, puerariae Radix starch, or taro starch, or modified starch or gelatinized starch thereof. The composition further contains a binder.
