The method involves placing a carrier element (104) on a surface (108) of a solar cell element (102), and arranging an injection mold on the surface of the solar cell element. The carrier element is received in the injection mold. The carrier element is partially overmolded in the injection mold with a spraying material such that a lid (106) is secured on the surface of the solar cell element, where the injection mold has an aperture. Electrical contact elements (116) are electrically contacted with the solar cell element before placing the injection mold. The solar cell module comprises end sections formed of metal and heat conducting plastic. The spraying material comprises liquid silicon rubber and hotmelt. An independent claim is also included for a solar cell module.
