METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SWITCHING PORT OF USB DEVICE

A method and a system for switching the port of a USB device are provided, and both can report the first set of Microsoft Operating System Descriptors (MODS) information when the USB device is connected to a host (410); the host modifies the received first set of MODS information into the second set of MODS information and stores it (420); and when the USB device is connected to the host again, the host sends a switch command automatically according to the stored second set of MODS information and accordingly the USB device switches to a normal work mode (430). In the technical solution, after a driver and a management software are installed (or only one of them is installed) on the computer host, and if the USB device is connected to the computer again, the computer can send a specific command quickly according to the stored second set of MODS information and make the USB device switch to the normal work mode quickly, which improves user experience.
