<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure safety of a workpiece suspension operation without impairing the advantages of a small and simple apparatus structure, in a tong suspender nipping and suspending a workpiece by rotary action of a link mechanism using the own-weight of the workpiece. <P>SOLUTION: This tong suspender nips and suspends a workpiece W by rotary action of a link mechanism using the own-weight of the workpiece. Nip support parts 13 disposed opposite each other for nipping the workpiece W are rotatably attached to lower parts of tong arms 2 constituting the link mechanism. A rotary drive part 16 for rotary driving one nip support part 13 is attached to one tong arm 2.
