A method and an apparatus for adding recipient information are disclosed, which relate to the communication technical field and are proposed to resolve a problem in the prior art that the recipient information can not be added according to a message content edited by a user. The technical solution includes: matching a message content edited by a user with the contact information in an address-list to obtain matched characters in the message content; obtaining the contact information corresponding to the matched character from the address-list; adding the contact information corresponding to the matched character in the recipient-list corresponding to the message content. The technical solution of the invention can be applied to a mobile terminal such as a mobile telephone etc.
